VegClear partners with EMCs to support substation and switching station gravel vegetation control programs using proprietary herbicide tank mixes with a colored spray indicator. We follow all manufacturer label instructions to ensure safe and effective application.
Our weed control services typically follow one of several standard treatment schedules:
Initial Year of Program: 30, 60, then 90-day or 120-day intervals, resulting in 4-6 treatments the first year. This schedule is common in the first year for industrial sites, towers, substations, perimeter fencing, and other gravel-covered, access-controlled areas.
Ongoing Maintenance: After the first year, the schedule typically shifts to either quarterly, bi-annual (every 6 months) or annual treatments, with no charge inspections and touch ups all year.
Inspections are done by VegClear personnel throughout the year and by clients when needed, following BLM-approved Integrated Weed Management standards. This frequency ensures consistent and compliant vegetation management, maximizing your maintenance budget ROI.

Our crew leaders excel in navigating the evolving regulatory and operational demands of vegetation management. From planning treatments and applications to program and project management, compliance requirements, and environmental monitoring, we have you covered.
Our site managers are focused on sustainability and grid resiliency, ensuring your vegetation management program remains optimized and efficient. After all, the whole point is to keep the lights on, and we embrace that mission fully.

Climate change is a component that is part of any program with vegetative impact; on trees and vegetation by extreme weather, droughts, wildfires, and diseases. Overgrown or weakened growth falling into distribution circuits can cause power interruptions and harm communities. VegClear stays ahead of these challenges by implementing robust mitigation strategies. We are well-versed in emerging regulations, including FERC reliability standard FAC-003-4, which mandates transmission vegetation management. Our program directors prevent tree encroachments and the need for manual trimming with our routine applications.

By strategically optimizing your vegetation management investment, you can improve the safety, reliability, and resiliency of your power system.
VegClear offers comprehensive vegetation management services to a range of organizations, including utilities, electric cooperatives, natural gas providers, pipeline operators, and renewable energy developers (including solar, wind & water hydropower dams).
Our licensed applicator staff can assist you with portfolio site assessments and planning, risk and safety reports, ROI business case modeling, cost optimization strategies, municipal regulatory support, mapping and strategic technology integration.

Our crew leaders, site managers, and herbicide specialists complement your team's on site mechanical efforts and ensure critical work is executed seamlessly. We employ GPS tracking with real-time dashboards to track application productivity, allowing us to monitor and adjust to meet your goals, milestones and deadlines. Our supervisors also assist with mechanical contractor coordination, on-site herbicide application, mechanical trim cycle recommendations, field work verification, onsite data collection, and program/project management. Additionally, we provide pre treatment assessments and deliver fully licensed spray services, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

VegClear recognizes that clear communication is essential to utility vegetation management. Our individually licensed spray techs and crew managers stay current with evolving standards and coordinate closely with client teams to ensure every program runs smoothly. We handle interdepartmental outreach, intra-agency coordination, herbicide records, survey data, and right of way maintenance spraying with consistent communication and accountability.
Our supervisors are equipped to manage environmental and infrastructure challenges, including mechanical contractor coordination, stormwater compliance spraying, industrial weed control, and herbicide application documentation.
VegClear provides professional herbicide application and vegetation control services that support grid reliability and regulatory compliance. Our programs combine safety, accuracy, IVM best practices, and environmental responsibility to protect utility corridors and maintain accessibility year-round.

VegClear supports utilities and agencies focused on grid reliability through precision vegetation management. Severe weather remains one of the leading causes of power outages in the United States, costing an estimated $22 to $36 billion annually. Many of these disruptions can be traced to vegetation interference.
Our work helps utilities prevent vegetation-related faults, improve accessibility for maintenance crews, and reduce the risk of outages during severe weather events. Through safe herbicide application and responsible vegetation control practices, VegClear contributes directly to stronger, more reliable energy infrastructure across the Southeast.
To strengthen resilience and reduce outages, utilities have prioritized bare ground and right of way maintenance through proactive vegetation control measures as part of national grid modernization efforts. VegClear plays a key role in these efforts, specializing in precision right of way spraying, bare ground weed control, and industrial vegetation management around substations, transmission corridors, and access routes.
